Position Available: Full-time Permit Holder
Hours: Full-Time (40 hours per week)


Katzie Development Limited Partnership (KDLP) Archaeology is seeking a Northwest Coast Archaeological Permit Holder to join our growing team. Reporting to the Archaeology Manager, this position will work out of our Port Coquitlam office. Applicants who qualify to hold HCA permits but have not achieved full permit holder status are encouraged to apply.


Duties:

  • ï‚· Mentoring Archaeological Staff, as appropriate;

  • ï‚· Preparing or contributing to proposals;

  • ï‚· Securing heritage inspection, investigation and alteration permits;

  • ï‚· Designing and leading archaeological field programs;

  • ï‚· Liaising with First Nations and community members;

  • ï‚· Managing project scope, schedule and cost;

  • ï‚· Participating in business development activities, including meetings with prospective clients;

  • ï‚· Participating in Indigenous community relationship-building activities;

  • ï‚· Undertaking analysis and preparing technical reports;

  • ï‚· Writing permit applications, interim reports, and final reports;

  • ï‚· Assisting with operations, as required

Capabilities and Credentials:

  • ï‚·Possess a BA and or BSc with an archaeology major (a Master’s degree is desirable); 

  • ï‚· Must be an Associate or Professional member of the British Columbia Association of Professional Archaeologists (BCAPA);

  • ï‚· Minimum 6 years experience in Cultural Resource Management;

  • ï‚· Minimum 6 years experience identifying and recording traditional use sites & features, CMTs, and a full range of coastal archaeological site types;

  • ï‚· A valid class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract;

  • ï‚· Desire to work closely (in both leadership and supporting roles) with First Nations;

  • ï‚· Excellent writing and communications skills;

  • ï‚· Able to work independently.

  • ï‚· Salary range - $75,000-$105,000 (commensurate with education, skills, and experience)
